Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide crucial assistance to surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Preparation: Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange necessary supplies before procedures.
- Instrument Care: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety and accuracy.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients during surgery, assist with positioning, and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Decontamination: Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment.
- Documentation: Accurately document surgical procedures, patient vital signs, and inventory counts.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Detail Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy equipment as needed.
