Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis per protocol
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies in sterile processing areas
- Adhere to strict OSHA and AORN safety standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless surgical workflow
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
