Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and equipment per surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle surgical specimens for proper lab processing and documentation
- Perform comprehensive sterilization and decontamination of equipment
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Adhere to OSHA and infection control standards rigorously
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless case flow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
