Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and sterile supplies before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and surgical equipment for proper functioning
- Apply sterile drapes and position patients for optimal surgical access
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis according to protocol
- Decontaminate and sterilize equipment post-procedure
- Document procedural activities in compliance with healthcare regulations
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technologist program graduate (CST preferred)
- Current KY state surgical tech certification
- Minimum 1 year OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
