Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count and track surgical supplies/instruments before, during, and after operations
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them safely
- Manage biological waste disposal according to OSHA protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist with reordering processes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in acute care setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
