Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone triage assessments using ESI protocols
- Provide clinical guidance to patients regarding symptom severity and care urgency
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate level of care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Educate patients on home care management and preventive measures
- Manage high call volumes during peak hours with efficiency and empathy
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and organizational policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX RN)
- Minimum 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
- Triage certification (ENPC/TNCC preferred)
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic/Cerner)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work 20-28 hours/week, including evenings/weekends
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable
