Responsibilities
- Assess patient calls via telephone and determine medical urgency using standardized protocols
- Provide accurate clinical guidance and triage recommendations to patients
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate appropriate patient care
- Document all patient interactions and assessments in Epic EMR system
- Manage after-hours coverage and emergency response protocols
- Conduct follow-up calls for high-risk patients per established workflows
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX RN required)
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience in ER, urgent care, or telehealth
- BLS certification and current ACLS preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to de-escalate anxious callers
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on rotating schedule
