Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and virtual patient assessments using evidence-based triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize urgent cases and coordinate patient care pathways
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education regarding treatment plans and home care instructions
- Oversee patient flow and delegate tasks to medical support staff efficiently
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage services
Qualifications
- Active California RN license with minimum 2 years clinical experience
- BLS/Certification; ACLS preferred
- Proven expertise in emergency triage protocols and rapid assessment techniques
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate anxious patients
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems or comparable electronic health records
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative team dynamics
- Flexibility to cover evening/weekend shifts on rotating basis
