Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and prescription databases
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures following aseptic technique
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical compounding and sterile preparation
- Excellent attention to detail with zero-error medication dispensing record
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
