Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing, verification, and insurance coordination
- Maintain inventory control and medication storage per regulatory standards
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Process third-party insurance claims and resolve billing inquiries
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 1 year pharmacy technician experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques a plus
