Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations following established protocols
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service while educating patients on medication usage
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize workflow and ensure medication safety
- Operate pharmacy technology including automated dispensing systems and EMR software
Qualifications
- Active PTCB certification or Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
- Background check and drug screening required
