Responsibilities
- Accurately verify patient information and process prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Prepare and package medications, including compounding and labeling prescriptions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, track stock levels, and restock shelves to ensure product availability.
- Assist in the operation of pharmacy equipment, such as dispensing cabinets and barcode scanners.
- Process insurance claims and handle payments efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including HIPAA and DEA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients by answering questions and resolving concerns.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Current, unencumbered state pharmacy technician license.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and medication interactions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team setting.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
