Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately verify and prepare prescriptions by checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order medications, and manage the pharmacy's inventory system to ensure optimal supply.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing issues and answer medication questions with empathy.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all state and federal laws, including DEA regulations and HIPAA privacy standards.
- Medication Dispensing: Label, package, and dispense medications to patients in a safe and organized manner.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy logs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Licensure: Valid Washington State Pharmacy Technician license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and a focus on safety.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
