Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Maintain sterile compounding environments and adhere to USP 797 standards
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes
Qualifications
- Active PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and automation
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and pharmaceutical regulations
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain immediately)
