Job Overview:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the medications they need safely and efficiently. You will work closely with pharmacists to prepare prescriptions, manage inventory, and provide exceptional customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the pharmacy inventory system.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients to answer questions regarding their medications and provide instructions.
- Registration & Billing: Process patient registration, insurance claims, and billing inquiries efficiently.
- Quality Control: Ensure all medications are labeled correctly and adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and medication records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- Licensure: Valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Tennessee.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with pharmacy software and computer systems.
