Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and process prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
- Review prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, and potential drug interactions prior to dispensing.
- Prepare and package medications, including compounding and appropriate labeling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking supplies.
- Assist customers with prescription refills and provide basic medication counseling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized pharmacy environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Current Illinois state Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and drug interactions.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and pharmacy management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict timelines.
