Responsibilities
- Accurately process incoming prescription orders and verify patient information against insurance records.
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Retrieve and store medications in appropriate storage areas, adhering to safety protocols and temperature controls.
- Manage inventory levels, including checking stock, restocking shelves, and processing orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries and assisting patients with medication questions.
- Assist in the cleaning and organization of the pharmacy workspace to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred but willing to train candidates with experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy management software.
- Current CPR certification is a plus.
