Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and NY State pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy software systems and automated dispensing equipment
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues
Qualifications
- Active NY State Pharmacy Technician license (required)
- 1+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience (preferred)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential (strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medication names, dosages, and interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
