Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records with precision
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulatory standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
- Operate pharmacy technology systems including automated dispensing equipment
Qualifications
- Active Georgia Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of sterile compounding techniques a plus
