Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide medication counseling and answer patient inquiries professionally
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) and automated dispensing systems
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV admixture preparation when certified
- Train new pharmacy technicians on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Active pharmacy technician license in the state of Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of drug interactions, pharmaceutical calculations, and safety protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medication information
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Background check and drug screening required
