Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly audits.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to facilitate smooth transaction processing.
- Assist pharmacists with medication therapy management and answer patient inquiries regarding prescriptions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment in compliance with state and federal regulations (HIPAA).
- Handle cash transactions and process returns or exchanges courteously.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (e.g., through PTCB or ExCPT).
- Active Pharmacy Technician license issued by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for dosage calculations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems (e.g., RX30, Cerner) is a plus.
