Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and restock shelves to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional support to patients by answering questions, processing insurance claims, and verifying prescriptions.
- Quality Control: Assist the pharmacist in the compounding of medications and perform quality assurance checks on all dispensed drugs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws to maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and inventory logs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Computer: Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, McKesson).
