Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and process prescriptions for patients, ensuring all necessary information is complete and accurate.
- Medication Preparation: Prepare and package medications according to physician orders, utilizing proper compounding techniques when necessary.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure the pharmacy is stocked with necessary pharmaceuticals and supplies.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers, answering questions regarding prescription refills and medication interactions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and company safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to sit for the certification exam.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude and proficiency in using pharmacy management software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner, or Epic).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors and maintain high standards of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
