Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify Information: Check prescriptions for completeness and accuracy, verifying patient information and insurance details.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, restock medications, and manage the pharmacy's inventory system efficiently.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with medication questions, process transactions, and provide a positive shopping experience.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA privacy laws and DEA guidelines.
- Prescription Entry: Input prescription data into the pharmacy management system with high precision.
- Special Orders: Process special orders and handle prescription transfers as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Colorado (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on details to ensure medication safety and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems quickly.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
