Responsibilities
- Receive, verify, and process prescription orders from physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Prepare and dispense medications, including counting tablets, measuring liquids, and labeling containers.
- Assist pharmacists with medication compounding and therapeutic interchange decisions.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments and organizing storage areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries and resolving prescription concerns.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws at all times.
- Process insurance claims and handle patient payment transactions accurately.
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in healthcare preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for optional local deliveries).
