Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with medication cost-saving programs
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy workspace following HIPAA and DEA regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, dosage forms, and pharmaceutical calculations
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to clearly explain medication instructions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Basic understanding of HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
