Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to physician orders.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and retrieving pharmaceutical products.
- Assist pharmacists in the compounding of medications and handling complex or controlled substances.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions and providing medication counseling support.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy board guidelines.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient information for billing accuracy.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and adheres to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not always required for top candidates.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosages.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, McKesson).
