Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and patient assistance programs efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and health maintenance
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and pharmacy documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
- Utilimize pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) for dispensing and tracking
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription drugs, dosage forms, and pharmaceutical compounding
- Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex medical information
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in medication handling
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math and calculation skills for dosage verification
