Responsibilities
- Prescription Preparation: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for patients, ensuring all labels are correct and legible.
- Order Verification: Verify prescription orders against physician's instructions to ensure safety and accuracy before dispensing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, assist in the procurement of pharmaceuticals, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and healthcare professionals in a friendly, professional manner, answering questions and resolving concerns.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA guidelines, regarding patient privacy and medication handling.
- Assist Pharmacists: Support the Pharmacist in compounding medications and managing the pharmacy workflow efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Georgia Board of Pharmacy Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to perform repetitive tasks with high precision and minimal error.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
