Responsibilities
- Accurately process and verify prescription orders, including refill requests and new prescriptions, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Retrieve, count, and prepare medications, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
- Assist customers with insurance inquiries, co-pay collection, and medication counseling as directed by the pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including reordering supplies and performing monthly stock counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in the computer system and manage patient profiles.
- Handle special orders and compound medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is required.
- Current Arizona Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
