Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with NY State pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Assist in compounding sterile preparations when required
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician certification
- 1+ years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and dosage forms
- Excellent attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of sterile compounding procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required
