Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical products
- Provide exceptional customer service, counseling patients on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for prescription processing and record-keeping
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification in Texas (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficient in pharmacy management software and MS Office applications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
