Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Prepare and package prescriptions accurately according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Verify Prescriptions: Perform thorough checks on prescriptions for dosage, drug interactions, and patient allergies to ensure safety.
- Customer Interaction: Greet patients warmly, answer questions regarding prescriptions, and provide education on medication usage.
- Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, receive deliveries, and organize the pharmacy storage areas efficiently.
- Administrative Support: Process insurance claims, maintain patient records, and handle cash transactions at the register.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- Licensure: Current and active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong mathematical skills and the ability to detect discrepancies in data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
