Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflows including data entry and verification
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain inventory control and ordering of pharmaceutical supplies
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription inquiries
- Operate pharmacy dispensing technology and automation systems
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license or certification eligibility
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
- Attention to detail with high accuracy in prescription processing
- Basic math skills for compounding and dosage calculations
