Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Maintain precise inventory control and medication stock rotation
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for order processing
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and pharmacy board regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for medication reconciliation
Qualifications
- Active Indiana Pharmacy Technician license
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience (1+ years preferred)
- CPhT certification through PTCB or ExCPT
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume setting
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods (6-8 hours)
