Responsibilities
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
- Prepare and package prescription medications, including labeling and dispensing.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist pharmacists with medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions at the point of service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized pharmacy environment.
- Stay updated on new medications, products, and pharmacy regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (or eligibility to obtain).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate math calculations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., BD, McKesson) is a plus.
