Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications with 100% accuracy under pharmacist supervision
- Lead inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and controlled substance tracking
- Mentor and train new pharmacy technicians on SOPs and compliance standards
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Conduct medication reconciliation for hospital discharge patients
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Maintain sterile compounding areas following USP 797 guidelines
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and DEA regulations
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
