Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Assist pharmacists in the compounding of medications and the operation of automated dispensing equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about medications, side effects, and insurance coverage.
- Process returns, refunds, and reimbursements while adhering to strict compliance policies.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required for onsite shifts).
