Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise patient records
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and health compliance
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and strict adherence to pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail with medication accuracy
- Strong communication skills for patient interactions
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; PTCB certification a plus
