Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain precise electronic health records and pharmacy documentation
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified preferred)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong mathematical accuracy and attention to detail in medication preparation
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medication information
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure environments
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic understanding of sterile compounding procedures
