Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness, checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Prepare and package medications, including compounding and sterile compounding as required.
- Assist the Pharmacist with inventory management, reordering stock, and managing returns.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions regarding medications and insurance co-pays.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing software and electronic health record systems efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment compliant with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy and typing proficiency.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
