Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently process prescription orders, verifying patient information and medication details.
- Prepare and dispense medications following strict state and federal regulations, including sterile compounding when required.
- Assist customers with medication inquiries, insurance verifications, and refill requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and conducting monthly inventory counts.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to streamline workflow and improve patient service times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the pharmacy management system.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Current District of Columbia pharmacy technician license.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
