Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently process prescription orders, including refill authorizations and new prescriptions.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and prescription details to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication profiles within the pharmacy management system.
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including compounding when necessary.
- Manage inventory levels, including checking expiration dates, stocking shelves, and organizing the pharmacy area.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and addressing concerns professionally.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and pharmacy policies to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems quickly.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
