Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescriptions accurately according to state and federal laws and regulations.
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims efficiently using pharmacy software.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions when directed by the pharmacist.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and performing monthly counts.
- Assist the pharmacist in compounding medications and maintaining an organized workflow.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, safe, and compliant with HIPAA and safety standards.
- Handle cash transactions and manage point-of-sale operations accurately.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.
- Valid Pharmacist License in the state of Maryland.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems (e.g., Rx30, Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
