Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders to ensure compliance.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist customers with medication inquiries and provide over-the-counter recommendations.
- Perform quality control checks on all dispensed medications to ensure safety.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions at the point of sale.
- Collaborate with pharmacists on medication therapy and patient care plans.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and POS systems.
