Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing.
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and safety.
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation of sterile compounding products.
- Manage inventory levels, including checking expiration dates and restocking shelves.
- Communicate with patients regarding prescription questions and insurance coverage.
- Process insurance claims and reimbursement paperwork accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
