Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Verify prescriptions for completeness and accuracy before dispensing.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and assisting patients with their medication needs.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding sterile preparations and other specialized tasks.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws.
- Monitor expiration dates and perform regular quality control checks.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to sit for the certification exam (PTCB or ExCPT).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent math skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Valid Colorado driver's license (for occasional delivery runs).
