Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking stock levels, receiving deliveries, and reordering supplies.
- Assist customers with medication inquiries and provide education on proper usage and storage.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws regarding patient confidentiality.
- Operate pharmacy management software and point-of-sale systems efficiently.
- Assist with compounding medications and preparing sterile products when required.
- Perform routine cleaning and organization of the pharmacy workspace to ensure safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Valid North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems (e.g., McKesson, Cerner, BD) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify prescriptions for accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
