Responsibilities
- Dispense Medications: Accurately prepare, package, and label prescription medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Patient Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service, answer patient inquiries regarding prescriptions, and assist with insurance verification.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive and organize pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory control systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, state pharmacy laws, and safety protocols at all times.
- Quality Assurance: Perform double-checks on high-risk medications to ensure patient safety and accuracy.
- Processing: Handle payment processing, return of goods, and maintaining a clean, organized pharmacy workspace.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Licensure: Active Washington State Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Math Skills: Strong aptitude for mathematics and the ability to read and interpret prescriptions accurately.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a compassionate demeanor toward patients.
