Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently process incoming prescriptions in strict accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and medication orders to ensure billing accuracy and patient safety.
- Assist the Pharmacist with medication preparation, compounding, and performing quality assurance checks.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and verifying expiration dates.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash transactions with the highest level of integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers regarding medication inquiries and refill requests.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with pharmacy software systems.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
